Tim has been with Grant Thornton since 1 October 2024 as Senior Manager Tax Knowledge Centre. I mainly focus on international acquisitions, cross-border financings, restructurings and international joint ventures and the application of the Global Minimum Tax, Dutch withholding taxes, Dutch corporate tax, and treaty application. In addition, I support the international tax services team with International and European tax law issues, tax disputes, tax litigation and administrative tax law.
Previously, I worked as tax policy advisor on developing national and international tax policy at the Dutch Ministry of Finance (2018-2022). Since 2022, I am a researcher/ lecturer at the department of Tax Law of Leiden University. After I graduated from the University of Amsterdam (2018), I have completed the Executive Program in Transfer Pricing at the University of Lausanne, Switzerland (2019) and the institutional legislative lawyer program for legal professional graduates at the Academy for Legislation in The Hague, Netherlands (2021).
Over the years, I gained extensive experience as an all-round tax practitioner and scholar, publishing various articles and opinion in international and Dutch tax law journals and as one of the authors of the commentary on the Dutch Minimum Tax Act for NLFiscaal and SDU publishers. In addition, I am a member of the Dutch Association of Tax Advisers (NOB).
