Lara Plandsoen, Senior Manager ESG Strategy, leads the 'Supply Chain Responsibility' team within the Grant Thornton Sustainability Practice.
Throughout her career at IBM as a Technology and Strategy Consultant, she gained extensive international experience in large-scale international (digital) business transformations and supply chain strategy, transparency, and sustainability.
At Grant Thornton Impact House, she focuses on supporting companies in the areas of ESG strategy & governance, supply chain (value chain) due diligence, and preparing companies for new relevant regulations such as the CSRD (Corporate Sustainability Reporting Directive) and CSDDD (Corporate Sustainability Due Diligence Directive).
In her interactions with clients, her focus is on empowerment: helping the company understand and grasp sustainability-related concepts; collaboratively implementing the developed strategy or project plan ('learning by doing'); and ensuring the embedding of acquired knowledge and experience within the company's people, strategy, governance, and relevant processes.
A few examples of projects she has led over the past year include: several Double Materiality Analyses (DMAs) in the logistics, energy, transport, and financial sectors, followed by advice and implementation guidance in preparation for the CSRD; Life Cycle Assessments (LCAs) and value chain impact assessments for a major telecom provider; and supporting a utility company with their stakeholder strategy and mapping the value chain, followed by guiding the execution (and embedding) of the OECD Due Diligence process in preparation for the upcoming CSDDD regulation.
