Karin is leader of our family business knowledge team, responsible for client satisfaction, and maintaining and further expanding the accountancy and advisory practice focused on family businesses and owner-managers.
Karin has a great passion for entrepreneurs/owners of family businesses. This is expressed mainly by being a sparring partner for the owner and the family, who have to deal with many sometimes difficult themes, questions and issues. The dynamic between ownership, family and business gives her energy, and Karin likes to give that energy back to entrepreneurs. The passion with which she works is her business card.
In addition to her training as an accountant (AA and RA) at Nyenrode, among other places, Karin is registered as an RB tax consultant. She also followed the post-master course in business succession for family businesses at Tilburg University. In addition, she followed the International advanced manager programme of Grant Thornton International Ltd., giving her access to a broad international network of personal contacts.
Through her mindset, contact skills and a work environment where there is much to learn, Karin achieved rapid growth from assistant accountant to partner (2013) in 10 years at Grant Thornton. In recent years, she has proven that she establishes and maintains excellent relationships with clients and advises them competently and timely in relevant areas, according to client response.
In addition to her work at Grant Thornton, Karin has been a board member of The Royal Netherlands Institute of Chartered Accountants (NBA) (2011-2015) and a board member of the NBA Young Profs Advisory Committee (2011-2013).
