Johan, junior manager in the international tax services team at the Rotterdam office, is an international tax specialist. He has vast experience in advising multinationals, private equity houses, and high-net-worth individuals on international and European tax law matters. Besides, Johan focuses on withholding taxes, treaty applications, and Dutch corporate tax.
Johan graduated from Leiden University in 2019, and he has been working as an international tax lawyer at Grant Thornton Netherlands since March 2023. During his studies, he had the opportunity to study at the University of Texas at Austin as an exchange student.
He regularly writes articles and (EU direct tax) newsletters about the latest developments in international and European tax law. His publications have appeared in the Weekblad voor Fiscaal Recht (WFR) where tax scholars publish relevant and groundbreaking articles. Johan also has a major interest and knowledge in technology, particularly blockchain, and Artificial Intelligence.
