Improve your impact on biodiversity!
Biodiversity is declining worldwide. This is currently one of the biggest challenges and one that has major consequences. What is the importance of biodiversity?

Biodiversity is all life in one area. All these species work together in an ecosystem and provide ecosystem services. These are important for the proper functioning of our society. For example, they provide crop pollination, water purification and climate regulation. Biodiversity thus supports everything in nature that we need to survive.

What is the impact of declining biodiversity on your business?

Biodiversity underpins many crucial functions on which businesses depend. Therefore, the loss of biodiversity through pollution, land use change and other factors, also poses risks to your business. On the other hand, your company also influences biodiversity through its production processes, supply chains, and distribution networks. This same influence also offers you opportunities to reduce your negative impact or even turn it into a positive contribution to biodiversity.

How do you comply with legislation and reporting requirements around biodiversity?

Governments worldwide have already (collectively) set up several initiatives to draw your attention to biodiversity. For example, biodiversity reporting is already covered by recent legislation and reporting requirements such as:

  • Corporate Sustainable Reporting Directive (CSRD).
  • Task Force for Nature Related Financial Disclosures (TNFD).
  • Corporate Sustainability Due Diligence Directive (CSDDD).
  • EU Taxonomy
  • Deforestation Directive against deforestation

This legislation should increase transparency in your company's environmental strategy and your impact on nature. Fortunately, there is already increasing attention to climate and nature. More and more people and companies are aware of the importance of biodiversity. They are already implementing these measures, improving their impact and are knowledgeable on how to meet these requirements.

How do you improve your company's biodiversity?

With our LEAP approach, which falls under the TNFD, we work with you to create a roadmap in three steps, which you use to steer towards improving biodiversity. This looks as follows:

  1. We conduct a baseline inventory.
An analysis of your value chain in which we assess your dependencies on biodiversity and the potential impact of your processes on ecosystems. We examine your risks and opportunities related to biodiversity. This analysis forms the base for the second step.
  2. We develop a customized transition plan.
In this plan, we develop a strategy based on your specific risks and opportunities. In doing so, we define objectives, policies, actions and indicators to promote biodiversity conservation and sustainable processes.
  3. You are ready to implement, monitor and report on the plan.
